A major part of his work entails utilizing specialist knowledge of occupational health and cooperation on the provision of occupational health care for work life and workplaces, promoting and maintaining health, work ability and functional capacity for the working-age population. It includes enhancing and facilitating collaboration between occupational health care and the public health care sector including different stakeholders and actors in the field of occupational health, safety and work ability within a range of research and development projects.

He is planning and providing interprofessional education following the principles of good occupational health practice according to qualifications required of OH professionals and experts, as well as their continuing training in collaboration with different institutions.

Appointed by FIOH as

• member of the Expert Group on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH EG) within The Northern Dimension Partnership in Public Health and Social Well-being (NDPHS) and became Chair of OSH EG in 2022. https://www.ndphs.org/
• member of The Nordic Working Environment Committee, tasked with contributing to the implementation of the co-operation programme in the working life sector of the Nordic Council of Ministers. https://www.norden.org/en
