Georgina Burke

Dr Georgina Burke is a Consultant Neurologist at Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust. She obtained her MBBS and intercalated BSc from King’s College, London, in 1997. Dr Burke first came to Wessex in 1998 as a trainee, and returned in 2006 after obtaining a DPhil at Oxford University. Dr Burke’s interest in education started with a gap year teaching maths and science O’Level in a rural school in Zimbabwe. In addition to teaching, she has been Neurology TPD for Wessex and Neurology SAC board member, and is currently on the SCE Examining Board. She is a regular reviewer for the journals Practical Neurology and Neuromuscular Disorders, and has co-edited a book “Medicine For Dentists’. Dr Burke started researching the Millennial generation when asked to give a lecture on ‘Does Technology Change Your Brain?’ In 2018. She can be contacted at georgina.burke@uhs.nhs.uk.
